Who we are
Kintact ("we," "us") is a personal relationship manager app that helps you stay in touch with the people who matter to you. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Contact us any time at hello@getkintact.app.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
- Content you add. The contacts you create, notes about your interactions, important dates (such as birthdays and anniversaries), reminders, and photos you attach. This content is provided by you and stored to provide the app's core features.
- Device contacts (optional). If you choose to import contacts, the app requests permission to read your device's contact list so you can select people to add. We only store the contacts you explicitly choose to import. You can use Kintact without granting this permission.
- Photos (optional). If you attach photos to contacts or interactions, the app requests access to your photo library for the images you select.
- Notifications. If you enable notifications, a push token is associated with your device so the app can deliver reminders you schedule.
- Diagnostics. We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error diagnostics (such as device model, OS version, and error traces) so we can find and fix bugs. These reports are not used for advertising.
How we use information
- To provide the app's features: storing your contacts and notes, calculating when follow-ups are due, and sending the reminders you configure.
- To maintain and improve the app, including diagnosing crashes and errors.
- To communicate with you about your account or support requests you send us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show advertising in the app.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Firebase Authentication, and Firebase Storage), which we use as our backend service provider. Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your content is restricted to your authenticated account.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers that make the app work — Google Firebase (data storage and authentication) and Sentry (crash reporting) — and only for the purposes described above. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not share your contacts or notes with other users; Kintact never notifies anyone that you have added them.
Your choices and rights
- Permissions. Contact, photo, and notification permissions are optional and can be changed any time in your device settings.
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your content directly in the app.
- Account deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app's settings, or by emailing hello@getkintact.app from your account email. Deletion removes your content from our production systems; residual copies in backups are purged on a rolling basis.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your content is deleted as described above.
Children
Kintact is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
